RC cars range from ready-to-run models you drive out of the box to kit builds you assemble yourself. Beyond driving, most of the hobby is maintenance, tuning, and repair — suspension setup, gearing, and battery management.
Bashing (recreational driving) and racing are two fairly separate scenes with different equipment expectations.
Getting Started
Buy a ready-to-run 1/10 scale model from an established brand with available spare parts.
Check parts availability before buying. Off-brand models are unrepairable when something breaks, and something will break.
Learn LiPo battery safety — correct charging, storage voltage, and a fireproof charging bag.
Start on grass or dirt rather than pavement; it is more forgiving of both driving errors and crashes.
